Capturing the dynamism and community of women's rugby
A rugby match is made up of a series of moments, efforts and rhythms. Photography aims to capture these.
Chris Wright is the man behind Omega Photography, who’s photos you may have seen whilst reading some of the articles I’ve released.
Sport and women’s rugby contains a series of efforts, emotions, rhythms and skills, alongside a powerful sense of community and advocacy.
I’ve selected 18 images from Chris’ collection. Curated into two portfolios. One explores the dynamism of women’s rugby, the second one looks at women’s rugby’s sense of community.
Chris and I invite you to spend some time with these images, reflecting on the moments captured. Please feel free to comment which one stands out/makes the most impact on you. (You should be able to click on each individual image to view them on their own, as well as part of each collection)
Chris focuses on emotion within his work, both in the subject of his photographs and in the viewers of his work:
“I just hope I capture a moment that means something to someone.”
