When putting together and writing content for you, I try to hit a wide variety of themes. This includes articles from other coaches, referees, chairs of rugby.
I also include female health topics and how they intersect with rugby. I also look at research being produced within female sport and think about how coaches can use that information.
I also send out any activities I think you could adapt and use in your own sessions
I aim to provide something that people can takeaway and apply to their environment.
I’ve not shied away from discussion barriers within sport and coaching, including sharing several of my own thoughts and experiences.
Starting Monday, there will also be a new series of articles. Different people involved in sport will be sharing their experiences and thoughts anonymously. These articles will accompany the existing content that regularly hits your inbox.
They will discuss occassions when they have directly or indirectly experienced barriers and how they perceive power within sport.
The first article in the series is written by a male coach. They explore their experiences including stamping out homophobia at a rugby camp.
There’s also some powerful articles coming from a female coach and a female player.
Sharing anonymously gives people the chance to freely talk about how these experiences have impacted them, as one contributor states: “Anonymous articles are great as they allow people to say just what they want to say without fear of reprisal or appearing inadequate to others.”
It’s another way of discussing some of the issues within sport and highlighting potential solutions.
